As you can see, I have stepped outside the house at 701 East Grand River avenue, and took a picture of the front door. If you head back over the last couple of weeks, you can see some photographs from inside of the house. The front entrance has some wonderful detail in the trim. 
If you look closely at the following picture, courtesy of Clayton Klein, of the southwest corner of East Grand River and South Second, the house at the left hand side of the photograph is the old Defendorf house before it was moved. The photograph was taken in 1917. The top portion of the front porch is just barely visible but does not appear to have a cover over it.
