Here is a new recipe I just found that is so big, it really needs to be combined in the largest bowl you can find . . . and if you don't have a huge bowl, a trash bag! Thus the name.
Trash Bag Mix
16 cups air popped popcorn
3 cups frosted Cherrios
1 cup Lucky Charms cereal
1-1/2 cups pecan halves
1 package (14 ounces) milk chocolate M&M's
1-10 ounce package English toffee-bits
2 packages (10-12 ounces) white chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
Directions:
In a very large bowl, (or a clean, unused trash bag) combine popcorn, cereal, pecans, M&M's, toffee bits and pretzel sticks. Gently toss these ingredients until well mixed.
In a microwave or a small heavy saucepan, melt chips, and vegetable oil. Pour your melted chips over your popcorn mixture and gently toss until well coated. Immediately spread mixture onto two waxpaper-lined baking sheets. Let stand until dry. Store in an air-tight containers.
Yields: 32 cups or about 9-1/2 quarts.
Variation: Experiment and use your imagination. You could use peanuts or cashews instead of pecans.
