Squint Shot 011211

The last few days we have been looking at a building that no longer exists. It stood for many years in the northeast quadrant, behind the Butler Gun Shop. With the building gone, there are additional parking places available in the public parking lot, making it easier to visit every place from the library to Maria's Dance to Save-on and Sweet Sensations. But back to the building. Before the building could be torn down, the stamped sheet metal needed to be removed. Large sheets were taken down and piled off to the side, to be recycled. Tomorrow's squint shot will show a close-up of this metal siding and some of the lettering found on a few pieces.

This picture shows the west end of the building where the "barn" doors could be found (see yesterday's shots for a closer look at the doors).
